Nia makes a valid point. Carrying on from this point, many a criminal has skilfully circumvented a lie detector test by learning how to control his/her heart rate. A human lie detector may be effective but only to an extent, as a variant creeps in the form of human bias. 90% workability is just not high enough when a person's entire future is at stake.

I think lie detectors should be outlawed. How many people sat on death row because they failed a polygraph and succumbed to pressure. The machine is a monster.
