2005 Audi A8
Introduction
The A8 debuted as Audi's flagship sedan for the 1997 model year, replacing the Audi V8, which was discontinued in North America after the 1994 model year. The A8 3.7 was dropped after the '99 model year, and in 2000 Audi added the extended-length A8 L to the lineup. The second-generation A8 debuted in the 2004 model year.
New for 2005
The A8, intially only available in the L extended-length version, is available in a standard wheelbase for 2005. The 4.2-liter V8 receives a slight horsepower increase for the new model year, and the A8 is available with a 450-horsepower W12.
